How to play

  1. A first-person co-op game for 1 to 8 players: with fewer than 4, bots fill the team. Players can join or leave mid-run and a bot takes over their slot.
  2. Every campaign is 5 maps. Leave the safe room, fight through the city, the swamp or the mountain and reach the next safe room: everyone inside, then shut the door. Missions wait on the way: open gates under an alarm, start generators, gather fuel, haul cargo (bots pitch in and carry too), rescue a survivor, and a finale of waves until the ride arrives.
  3. On a computer: click to capture the mouse. WASD to move, mouse to aim, left click fires and right click aims down sights. Space jumps, Shift sprints, Ctrl crouches, R reloads, E uses or picks up, 1-4 switch weapons, G throws grenades, T deploys drones or turrets, H heals, V shoves and F toggles the flashlight.
  4. On phones: the left pad moves you (push it all the way up to sprint), drag on the right to look and hold FIRE (it turns the view too). There are buttons to aim, reload, jump, shove, crouch, swap weapons, throw, heal, plus a big button that appears whenever there is something to use or pick up. A light aim assist helps you out.
  5. Watch out for the specials: the Leaper pins you down, the Gunker covers you in goo so the horde rushes you, the Lasso drags you away, the Shrieker calls a horde, the Popper bursts and the Brute charges and hurls rubble. If a teammate gets grabbed, shove them free or shoot the creature.
  6. When you go down you can keep shooting your pistol: a teammate revives you by holding E. Medkits heal and adrenaline gives temporary health. Friendly fire is off by default (it can be turned on).
  7. There are 24 weapons: pistols, SMGs, shotguns, rifles, a sniper rifle, a machine gun, a crossbow, a flamethrower, a grenade launcher, a machete, a bat, an axe, a chainsaw, grenades, molotovs, the Bucket Beeper (lures the horde, then blows up), drones, turrets and mines. Three campaigns and a third of the arsenal are free; any plan unlocks everything.
  8. The host picks the campaign and difficulty, and can save the run to their account to continue another day.

The Horde is a first-person co-op zombie game you play with friends right in the browser, on a computer or a phone. Up to 8 players (bots fill in when you are few) fight through 15 campaigns of 5 maps: a city at night, a village in a downpour, snowy cabins, a hospital, a mall, a swamp, a highway, a port, the subway, a fair, a farm, a volcano, a military base, a school and the sewers. Running hordes of what used to be office workers, nurses, cops, farmers, builders, soldiers, students and tourists, special enemies, missions, 24 weapons including drones and a flamethrower, top-notch 3D graphics and runs you can save. Your team are beans wearing your own avatars.
